You must have read my mind because this is exactly the kind of ghost story I wanted to read, how could you know that? There will be spoilers, so I’ll keep on squeeing under the ( cut ) Mon, Feb. 20th, 2006, 11:15 pm
And I just want to add a big ole thank you to Sun, Feb. 19th, 2006, 07:20 pm
Whoever wrote Voices, Whispering Together, thank you so much! *hugs fic and you* Firstly, the nostalgia omg! It's Sean and Orli from years ago, the time I love the most. That is why I became a part of the fandom four years ago. I really liked your Orlando (he seemed young but not clueless), but I think I loved Sean even more. He was so silent and warm and most of the time I just wanted to run and cuddle him so he wouldn't be all miserable. Silly Orli for being so blind. :) I also have a weakness for Sean suffering from fear of flying, so I was thrilled to see you using it. It's enough to make me wonder if I know you. ;) My favourite part about Sean is this: Men like Sean were made for shadows and dark corners, for clandestine meetings in seedy bars, for whiskey and cigarettes and secrets. That's him, just the way I see him. Just the way he is. *flails a little* Another moment that I really, really liked was: Orlando continued to watch Sean as they shared the bottle – watched and wondered, and wondered why he was watching. I think that's when Orlando changes a little. Sees things. Realizes what he's supposed to realize. ;) Also, something about the word play really worked for me. I have to admit that I'm not a fan of Viggorli by any means, so I was slightly afraid of where the fic was going (despite knowing the pairing to be S/O). Even then, I think the pairing definitely works this way. :) Especially since it's obvious that Viggo and Orlando bonded during the filming, so the two of them avoiding each other would be OOC. (Also, whee! Craig and Marton's pseudo-cameos! <3!) I've read the fic a few times now, and it still gives me the same warm fuzzies as it did on the first read. :) Thank you so much for writing this for me, whoever you are. I love the fic and I love you. :D I'm not quite sure who you are, though. I had a couple of guesses, but one of them has been proven wrong and the other one... well. We'll see. Otherwise - Pieces of a Dream - I am notoriously bad at guessing her style, but... Everything Is Good and Green - Okay, Az, if you didn't write that one, this is my second choice. The images, the lovely characters, it's all so nostalgic, bright-eyed like everything New Zealand seemed to be. In the Dark - Er, not a clue. But this is a good 'un! I originally thought possibly Shellies, I still can't find you, no matter how hard I look. *wrings hands* Five Ways In Which Elijah Lost Dom and One Way He Didn’t - Dear mystery author, thank you so much. So many intriguing scenarios, and such woe on behalf of the poor characters! It was highly creative and enjoyable, and I appreciate how much work you put into it in order to come up with six separate ficlets! I am filled with glee, and deeply grateful. First: thank you, oh anonymous writer, for choosing the rarer pairing. There's so little Craig/Marton out there, so imagine my delighted squee. Second: the references to the past, to Shortland Street. <3! I've never seen a single episode of the soap, sadly, but I was aware of the connection (actually, my first reaction was "Wahey! That means slash!"), and I adore you for playing with the concept. I'm also absolutely in love with the "later" scenes that play out on the LotR set. Sneaky sex in the shadows! *wibbles* I'm sorry I can't provide more coherent feedback. I'm a bit too exited. ;) I have no idea who wrote this, though I've been able to rule out four suspects: Az, Brenda, Mimm and Io. That leaves seven possible writers. I won't venture any guesses, since a) I don't know the styles of the other writers, and b) I'm crap at it anyway. ;) And while on the subject of the guessing game: I suspect my fic can be spotted a mile off. David and Elijah. It's NC-17 porny goodness (I'm thinking will be rather pleased, too), so go read! By way of explanation re: three fics-- the person assigned *laughs* Somehow, I don't think THANK YOU to my lovely backup author for sending this in-- *smooch*! Thu, Feb. 16th, 2006, 09:53 pm
first, the fic written for me: pieces of a dream, viggo/orlando. this is GORGEOUS. it's all sleepy (you must know i have a thing for sleepy) and sumptuous and visual and sensate, and i barely realised that it was a lovely second-person because it worked so well and i was all sucked in and feeling sexy, so good work there *nods rapidly*. and you make a pretty, pretty picture out of orlando, but that's not all, he's not just a thing, i love that the way you didn't dwell on the moment he woke up and make a thing out of it, the sexiness had a hold by then. and by the way. the kink? VERY NICE. and it's so loving, and and. thank you so much! i have an idea who it might be, but then again, i could well be totally wrong. anyway. i am very pleased! so, onto the rest. haunted, viggo/orlando: wow, so much STORY. a clever, involved story, with added goosebumpies and viggo in a frock coat, there's nothing not to like about that. all so vivid, conceived and beautifully written. sunburn, elijah/david. this? this was DAMN SEXY and the voice, the voice! oh, that's a writer who loves her dave and makes us love him too. PLUS an elijah who's so ELIJAH and fuckable. also, a BRAVURA way with run-on sentences. sweet, funny, sexy and just right. voices, whispering together, sean/orlando. brenda, this is yours. i am SURE. it's all... muscled and taut and blokey-flirty and you made bean say 'luv'. it's YOU, i know it. *peers fiercely* five ways in which elijah lost dom and one way he didn't, elijah/dom. OH. BRILLIANT. this was kind of SAD at the start but by the time i got to III i was giggling and then i was laughing and then it kept going, anyway, i was CHARMED. carpe dulce, bean/elijah. oh, sweet, fluffy and lovely. otherwise, bean/elijah. darkened and mysterious futuristic world, nods to a few things, something running deep underneath. i liked this very much, i felt wooed. subtle and mesmerising and different. oof, can't finish them all now. hopefully i'll be back for the last few. i am overcome with love and glee. and, also, glee. and love. Making the Bed is totally awesome. valentine, you win at life. no, really. that was exactly the right mix of fluff and angst and general all-round genius that i needed. i'm not going to try to guess, but whoever you are, NICE WORK OMG. <3!
